Social Justice Team II

Team II was made up of extraordinary people as well: David Todd, Bryanna, Tim, Kelsie, and Josh. Hopefully we'll have a team photo up shortly. They went above and beyond the call of duty, so I'll forever feel connected in meaningful ways to these amazing people.

This team stepped out in some new places and spaces. We traveled
within this region and interviewed a group of Black and White farmers
and family members who had experienced discrimination within the USDA/FSA system. They prepared documents for a mediation process which is still in process.

Also, this team presented information at the Christian Association for Psychological Studies at the annual conference in King of Prussia, PA in March, 2007 along with Sara from Team I. That workshop was entitled "The Practices of Social Justice, Therapy, and Advocacy."

Then, in September, 2007, these team members and Sara from Team I teamed up with faculty members from Lubbock Christian University, Lubbock, Texas, and Abilene Christian University to present a workshop entitled "The Voice of God Speaks to Injustice: The Prophets, Jesus of Nazareth, and The Community of Faith."

This team and its work was spotlighted in a couple of locations including an issue of ACU Today found at this link.
